Standouts as at June 2012

So far, 2012 has been QUITE an eye-opener, both in LIFE EXPERIENCES, and INTERESTS and NEW THINGS. I think I really started getting into makeup and blogging in May- the main instigators of that were a lovely Australian beauty blogger community and finding Essence in Australia. Although I'm making myself slow down a little so my bank balance doesn't look quite so pathetic, I've still got a hefty interest in makeup and skincare. So, since I've been trying lots of products in the past couple of months, I thought I'd list out items which I've really enjoyed using, in the name of the first half of 2012. Some items may be the only one of its kind that I've tried, some may be the result of much shortlisting, but either way, I'll only include them if they've been impressive.

  1. Great post :)

I'm so itching to try Real Techniques but they're so expensive... and my wallet looks so pathetic lol

  2. Hehe, I've had an interest in beauty for ages but didn't start my blog until February so we're similar-ish on that front. I've been trying to save up too and only purchase things I really want/use up what I currently have. You make it hard making these 'standout' lists! I have my eye on:
    - FOA liquid eyeliner
    - more Revlon lip butters
    - more Ecotools/Real Techniques brushes

Boo, hopefully I don't buy stuff in excess! xx

    1. I've had heated debates with myself about whether or not I need certain products- I need some self-control! I'm quite happy with my brushes at the moment- I'm only really wanting the Ecotools eye brush set and the Real Techniques Stippling Brush but I can do without those. I'm telling myself to be happy with my Korres lip butters and to stop yearning for Revlon ones. :) xx

  3. I really enjoyed reading this post! :) My makeup habit spiralled out of control not immediately, but after a certain point things rapidly got out of control. And now I'm pretty much a bona fide addict :p I have to share the love for Bourjois blushes, the Sleek Storm palette and of course RT and Ecotools! I recently rediscovered my love for the Ecotools blush brush. Just a beautiful brush which applies blush so well. Also, I do like the Revlon cream eyeshadows for my eyeshadow base. I use them almost every day (in various palettes) and they really do make a difference to the vibrancy and lasting power of my eyeshadows.

    1. There's a visible difference when using the Revlon cream eyeshadows- I really didn't need to buy them, but I'm glad I have them? And I want your Bourjois blush collection! I might visit a couple more Target stores in the hope of finding discounted Bourjois blushes, though I doubt there'd be many left. And I adore my RT and Ecotools! I love the Ecotools blush brush so much- it applies the more pigmented blushes so well! x
