Make Up Diet Update

I've been good, and haven't bought any makeup since making a bold makeup diet proclamation. While I am appreciating the familiar faces of products in my collection, I hate being restricted and have a feeling I may cave before my goal date (Christmas 2012), especially when mid-sem exams roll around and I feel like some retail therapy. With MAC a-calling for a first date (I'm eyeing the Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle), and the lure of the Laura Mercier mineral powder on Strawberrynet, not to mention the entire wishlist I recently posted, I'm all too weak to carry on for another four months.

Despite browsing more than I should (online is one thing, but the wander through Priceline was definitely uncalled for), I have been making an effort to shop the stash a bit, as there's little else to entertain myself with (when it comes to new makeup, that is). Sorry about the products all being ones making a repeat appearance.

Clockwise from top left:
Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait
Very well-loved, and for a good reason too: this is a more sanitary alternative to the Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranate which I've been using everyday. I hate the gold sparkles, but reluctantly overlook them in favour of the easy application.

Bobbi Brown eyeshadow in Mahogany
I've been making a conscious effort to fill in my brows and quite like it. This is a very pigmented ash brown eyeshadow that will last me a very very long time.

Bourjois Blush in Rose Ambre
You all know I love this. Read back a few posts if you haven't yet heard me gush about this blush pot.

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze
I like this. A lot. I've certainly posted enough about it.

Laura Mercier Undercover concealer duo in UC-3
Wish I'd discovered this earlier! It's not perfect, but I do like both concealers very much and have been using them daily.

Sleek Storm palette
I've been playing with this (in conjunction with my Ecotools 6 piece eye brush set) and am constantly patting myself on the back for getting it. Alas, being the incontent human being I am, I have my sights set on the UD Naked palette next.

Fancy Love EDT
I wasn't one to wear perfume everyday, but having received a veritable hamper of perfumes for my 18th, I find myself returning to this creamy, floral Jessica Simpson perfume, despite the celebrity fragrance stigma.

Ecotools Blush Brush
I'm lemming for the Real Techniques' rendition, but I'm making myself make do with this one until I can't take it anymore.

So far, so good with the spending ban, but it's going to take a considerable amount of effort to continue with it for another 4 months!

Thanks for reading, take care, and God bless! xx

  1. I so know what you mean, I'm holding myself back too. I NEARLY went to Target today, but I'm like NO. xD

  2. It seems like a daily battle to not buy anything beauty-related. Even each day without a purchase seems like a minor accomplishment :p But at least it forces you to appreciate the things you already have. I think I'm starting to have a full blown love affair with Bad to the Bronze. It is simply terrific :)

    1. I don't mean to sound melodramatic or like a spoilt first world girl but it is such a battle! Especially when I saw the BOGOF on Revlon lip products! I own so few lip products- I feel like it's the one thing I could buy without feeling guilty! I want some lip butters and lipsticks- you're such an enabler! And agreed about Bad to the Bronze- truly terrific. :D
