Tedium and Shopping

It felt strange to take a little break from blogging- so I thought I'd share a personal, even if I'm not feeling in the swing of things to blog about makeup. I'm unsure of whether I should pick a side- personal blogging is fun but somewhat unprofessional on a beauty blog. What do you guys think? This is more of a photo and caption update than a legitimate post, just comprised of snapshots of what's been going on. In between the first three weeks' worth of lectures, tutorials and pracs, I've been reading, spending my meager earnings and herding teenagers around Rocks Riverside Park.

Baby bottle of Moroccanoil, Essence cheap-n-cheerfuls 'Cappucino Please!' and 'That's What I Mint!'

$1 well spent at the UQU lolly shop.

Breakfast at Cup, West End. Latte on the seasonal Five Star blend and French toast with poached pears, walnuts, mascarpone and salted caramel.

Another Brew breakfast with Sam. Coffee was good that day.

First Murano glass charm! Grey hearts; 'depressing', as my sister commented.

To-read. Currently up to chapter 2 of Hunchback; progress is slow.

Chaperoned and photographed my sister's 16th birthday bash. These kids sure can water-fight.

Assignments have begun churning. I'll try to keep up with the blogging but in stark contrast to the number of posts I could whip up during the holidays, I'm finding little time for much these days.

  1. I think you should post the personal non-beauty stuff here as well, it makes reading more varied and readers get to know you better! Who cares about 'professional' :p

Wow, your sister has a lot of friends LOL. I don't think I could get that many people to show up to a birthday party of mine, haha.

The french toast looks absolutely delicious! Nomnomnom.

I tried forcing myself to read Jane Eyre when I was younger SO many times (okay, so maybe like 2-3 times) but it was hopeless. I couldn't do it. I watched the movie remake with Mia whateverherlastnameis and Michael Fassbender - that was pretty okay.

    1. Aww thanks for the support Lena! And LOL same- you lose touch with so many friends when you leave school. I've heard good things about all those books but I've been ploughing through Hunchback for months now and every time I read a page and it gets boring I put it down.

  2. I really enjoy your personal posts and your blog is your blog - who cares what other people think! That french toast seriously looks delicious, I love ANYTHING with salted caramel, seriously. I need to read A Game of Thrones too! My friend says it's actually a surprisingly easy read (language, etc.) so will have to once I finish the The Mortal Instruments series! Have you watched the TV show, I've seen it all and have gotten pretty obsessed!

    1. A friend said Game of Thrones was a must-read so I'm looking forward to starting it. I've never read The Mortal Instruments books! I'm getting old- I mostly stick to classics or authors I already know and love.

  3. This is still a lovely post, this is my first visit to your blog but I enjoyed these little sneak peeks, that essence polish is gorgeous and so is your bracelet! I hope things are going well for you, sometimes we all need a blog break :)
