Loves Me, Loves Me Not

Unlike makeup and skincare, my interest in perfume is only just taking flight. On those fronts my interest has well and truly peaked and the amount I own is plateauing but somehow over the past 18 months I've managed to keep my perfume collection to a neat three. Target's 50% perfume sale a few weeks ago caused me to add a new member to the family, Marc Jacobs Daisy EDT. If you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen me harp on about this and I thought a post was due.

I adore this perfume. I've wanted to buy it for over a year now (if you can remember that particular wishlist post, kudos) so when I spotted the Daisy gift set in Target at $40, I was so visibly excited that the saleslady whispered conspiratorially "we've only got two of those left- you better hurry!".
I love the way it smells fresh and light for a floral- slightly fruity but not overly sweet or zesty. It complements my existing collection because none of the fragrances I have smell as spring-appropriate as Daisy. On paper, it's exactly my type of scent- base of musk, vanilla, white wood; middle notes of jasmine, violet and gardenia and top notes of wild strawberry, pink grapefruit and violet leaf. It's everything I want it to be... but only for about 5 hours. On me, the lasting time of Daisy is shocking. To my knowledge, Marc Jacobs hasn't created an Eau de Parfum of Daisy and for the price I paid, I'm happy to make do. Thankfully the gift set comprised of the 100mL EDT so there's plenty- a Travalo may be necessary to refresh the scent midway through the day. It also included a 4mL dinky little bottle and a Luminous Body Lotion. The little bottle is cute but not secure enough to safely carry in a tote bag and the body lotion has chunky flecks of glitter.

I'm happy to finally have this in my possession and I've been wearing it about 4 days a week this season. The next one I'd like to cross off my list is CHANEL Coco Mademoiselle- not one to get in the near future but its time will come eventually.

  1. I love Daisy too, and I love its sister Daisy Eau So Fresh, it is just so beautifully light and floral :) Daisy actually does come in a EDP version which you can find in Myer, which comes in a beautiful black bottle with gold daisies as its lid! :)

    1. I looked that up! I knew it was the 'luxury' version but I didn't know it was the EDP! I wonder if it lasts any longer. A friend of mine got the Daisy Eau So Fresh Sunshine version, which is lovely too!
