September Favourites

This late favourites post is going to be super quick and casual because I'm currently inundated with assignments and housekeeping but I bought a fisheye lens from eBay (link here!) and I decided to use it to take photos of the products because my camera battery is giving me a hard time. Hope you don't mind!

Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask
I've loved both of these masks and I use them in conjunction with each other to treat different concerns on different areas of my face. I use the Thermal Detox Mask on my t-zone, so my forehead, temples, nose and chin, and the outsides of my face, and the Instant Oatmeal Mask on my cheeks to hydrate and nourish. The Thermal Detox Mask really heats up and after leaving it for a few minutes I like to use my fingertips to spread the mask across the skin and it feels really hot which can be good to loosen the oils and grime in my pores and help with clearing up breakouts. Both masks are thick- I find the Oatmeal mask to be richer and more spreadable than the Thermal Detox but applying them is a breeze and I've been using them about once or twice a week for the past two months.

The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Mist
I wandered into The Body Shop randomly because I saw that the Vineyard Peach line was back in stores and I decided to try this. I love it. I reasoned that it's limited edition, and that I don't have any body mists, and that if I can't afford Jo Malone at the stage of life I'm at right now, I'll settle for this. I love peaches and peach-flavoured drinks and yogurt and sorbet so yes please to Vineyard Peach.

EcoTools Pure Complexion Deep Cleansing Facial Sponge with Bamboo Charcoal
I finally got another konjac sponge! I love the clean that it does for my skin, and it gently unclogs large pores around the nose better than fingers, masks or exfoliators. I haven't noticed any difference between this and the white version for sensitive skin, so I would say they're interchangeable.

Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Lotion
I included this in a favourites post earlier this year and it's back! I absolutely love this product for hydrating the skin and leaving it plump and full of moisture. It sinks into the skin without much effort and doesn't leave any residual feeling on the skin upon application. If I had to choose a single product from Asian beauty stores, try Hada Labo.

Galderma Benzac AC Water Based Acne Gel 5% Benzoyl Peroxide
My skin has been behaving itself extremely well for the past couple of months and it's all because of this baby here. I would liken it to the Kate Somerville AntiBac Clearing Lotion, which I tried and decided wasn't worth the money, or OXY which is another benzoyl peroxide acne solution. The Dermalogica Clear Start Overnight Clearing Treatment was another option I was considering but I've used the 2.5% version of this acne gel and thought I'd try the 5% and it's been a near miracle-worker. I apply it onto the skin after the Hada Labo SHA Lotion has absorbed and follow it up with a glycolic acid cream which I apply to areas of hyperpigmentation. My skin hasn't had problematic breakouts since I started using this 5% benzoyl peroxide acne gel and I am so happy with the results.
PS: Eat your veggies, drink lots of water and get 8 hours of sleep as well!

Finishing off with Lush No Drought Dry Shampoo, which I have continued loving since I bought it in May. I use it about 3 times a week and I've barely made a dent in it. I haven't even used a quarter of it. (#bargaincentral) It soaks up the greasy feel of day-old hair and gives the hair considerably more volume, which I'm sure some people will appreciate a lot more than I do, so if you're sick of dry shampoos in aerosol cans that run out after 2 months, or if your current dry shampoo isn't cutting it for you in the volume side of things, give this a go.

    1. Thank you! Lots of different companies make konjac sponges so if EcoTools is hard to find, try another kind!

  2. Oh yeah, Daphne told me you got the thermo mask haha! Glad to hear you're liking it. Everyone's been raving about it! The Vineyard Peach scent sounds divine, I really want to get my hands on more TBS stuffs since their price drop. I really want to try a konjac sponge, they intrigue me muchly!

    1. When I bought the Vineyard Peach body mist, they gave me a sample of the Warming Mineral Mask, which is nice but I still prefer the Sanctuary Spa one! I'm the same with TBS skincare- I really want to try their Silky Cleansing Oil or Sumptuous Cleansing Butter but I don't wear makeup regularly enough to justify it. Konjac sponges help with cleansing but I'm still aiming for the Clarisonic for long-term!

    1. I can't get enough of the fish-eye lens clip! It boosts the phone camera quality. And I was surprised to hear it was bamboo charcoal too!
