Rosy Star

30mL perfumes are the bomb diggity when it comes to gifting because a smaller bottle of a high quality fragrance is 10x better than a 100mL bottle of a bad one. Consider this me getting my Christmas spirit on for my blog. I haven't anything in way of Christmassy gift guides or DIY ideas because it's difficult to get with the festive happenings that Youtubers and bloggers are perpetuating when you're really not spending a cosy night in wearing a cute sweater and whisking hot chocolate because it's 33`C and you're drinking water by the litre and wearing sleep boxers all day to keep cool. (That being said, Cotton On Body sleep boxer shorts are awesome.) However, I do have a suggestion to add to the gift ideas as my two cents and that is Stella by Stella McCartney. This is the first fragrance purchase I ever made and I'm still proud of it and I use it multiple times a week.

Stella has a base of amber, a heart of rose absolute and top notes of peony and mandarin essence and while it is undoubtedly floral, it's a gorgeous complex fusion that sets it apart from the Viva La Juicy's and Daisy Eau So Fresh's of the perfume scene because instead of being a fruity floral it's a very refined, sophisticated floral that I often wear when I want to feel confident when:
(a) doing oral presentations or networking at professional development events for University;
(b) having a city day shopping around at department stores and doing my own thing swatching and browsing while snooty sales assistants observe me hawk-eyed;
(c) on dates or meeting friends because the right fragrance brings out the best version of you.
The lasting power of Stella is great too- it lasts a full day on me, which is impressive considering some of my other fragrances like Versace Bright Crystal and MJ Daisy last a feeble 5-6 hours.
I think it would make an excellent Christmas present for any women in your life because it's not too expensive for the quality and it looks gorgeous for having a dinky little 30mL bottle. Unlike Marc Jacobs Daisy, for example, this 30mL bottle looks beautiful. (Not hating on MJ Daisy- I own the 100mL) Bottles like Chloe and MJ Daisy are gorgeous in 50mL and 100mL sizes but the 30mL looks a little measly. Not Stella though! If you're a generous person and you know someone who loves this or would love more than 30mL of it, Stella was just relaunched this year in jazzy new packaging, which would make an amazing present. Hope you're having a wonderful holiday season/hope you're holding up if you're someone who finds all the Christmas cheer gratingly irksome!

  1. Thanks for the review! I'll definitely give this a whiff. I actually prefer even smaller sizes haha I think i've only finished 2 30ml perfumes ever!

    Raincouver Beauty

  2. Anna always raves about this perfume, it sounds really gorgeous though I haven't sniffed it for myself. I remember way back when you first got this haha!

    Tasha // shiwashiful.

  3. I haven't finished any perfumes before! I think you're doing pretty well with 2x 30mL perfume empties! ;)

  4. Chemist Warehouse! And thanks for sticking around for all these years! I believe they might have testers for this at Myer or DJs. It's not too common in Australia- not nearly as common as some others anyway, and I really like that about Stella!
