April Favourites

Birthday month has come and gone and I am super excited to be sharing some April Favourites with you! I found some real gems this month.

Illamasqua Cream Blush in Zygomatic
This creamy pan seems to come out every single winter because when the weather's cooler I'm less afraid of cream products fading off my skin. I love this shade on my cheeks when my skin's less tanned- it's a gorgeous natural pink and I don't regret getting this (instead of the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed) one bit. I apply it with the Expert Face Brush and it's a dreamy match.

A'PIEU NonCo Tea Tree Spot Patch
I got these babies in the same Korean order as my BB cushion (full post here) and they are amazing at soothing and calming blemishes that are brewing. I bought some 3M Nexcare Acne Patches from Singapore and they lasted me through 2013-2014 so I thought I'd have a look around at getting something to replace them. These A'PIEU patches are even better. They're thinner and more adhesive to the skin, while the Nexcare patches were thick, non-adhesive and seemed more like a rubber patch you would use as an anti-scratch furniture pad on the bottom of a table leg in comparison. The Nexcare patches only worked well with pus-filled whitehead spots, while these A'PIEU patches work on every kind except hormonal acne (which is what the Mario Badescu Buffering Lotion is for!). I bought 3 of these sachets (12 patches in 1 sachet) and I should have bought more.

ALDI Protane Moroccan Argan Oil Renewing Treatment Mask
I bought this in January/February because I spotted it in a friend's bathroom and she has great hair so I thought I'd get on that quick. I love ALDI and this isn't half bad. It has the consistency and colour of a conditioner and I comb it through the bottom half of my hair, letting it sit for a few minutes and it leaves it newly nourished, smooth and feeling luxe. For something that's a fraction of the price of the Organix range's hair mask and is sulfate-free, I think it's a great bargain.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard
After getting this in mid-April, I too have fallen for it. The coverage is great and it's just so easy to use. Foolproof, even. I use this under a layer of Laura Mercier Mineral Powder for an easy base that doesn't have too ghastly a flash-back face in photos.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Game of Chromes
Full post here. I received this to try and it was fantastic. Long-lasting with the Step 2 top coat, passable with 1 coat and very quick-drying. I love this frosted gold shade as well- it's gorgeous year-round.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
I passed my Buffing Brush on to my sister and now I just use this and the Multi-Task brush, which made me appreciate how amazing they are. I use this brush for liquid foundation, blending out concealer and applying cream blush- the shape and density and softness make it perfect and useful for all three purposes. I love it to bits.

Twinings Lemon & Ginger and Chamomile, Honey & Vanilla tea
These are handy to have when I want something calming and quasi-cleansing before bed. They're caffeine-free and I chose flavours that are quite soothing. I would recommend the Chamomile, Honey & Vanilla over the Lemon & Ginger, as I believe T2's Lemongrass and Ginger tea has a better mix and isn't as lemon Strepsil-like.

Three by Three Seattle magnetic blackboard
I got mine from Officeworks and this little board is the perfect size to sit on my desk and write to-do lists and reminders lists and any other type of list. I like using chalk marker pens on it and I think it's a lot more environmentally friendly than using countless post-it notes.

Succulents
I picked up 2 succulents for myself at the University markets and repotted them into cute little ceramic planters I got from kikki.K and Daiso respectively. I love the way they brighten up my windowsill and bring some natural charm to the room.

Oh Wonder
My friend Huldah mentioned this duo on her blog a couple of times and I love that girl's taste so when she recommends something, I am onto that. I absolutely love Oh Wonder's music- their vibe is oddly engaging, but soothing, and yet it's not something that completely occupies your attention, which is great for studying and multitasking. I've been listening to them on Spotify and I haven't found a track I didn't like. I think my favourites might be Midnight Moon and Lose It.

Netflix
A friend of mine got the free 1 month trial and let my boyfriend use the guest account and we've been watching a tonne of movies thanks to free HD streaming. Aussie Netflix doesn't have as many options as the American original, but they've got some classics and I especially enjoyed rewatching Up, Tangled and The Princess Bride.

Anna Kendrick's Lip Sync Battle victory
I am a huge Anna Kendrick fangirl- from 50/50 to Pitch Perfect- and this was both hilarious and astounding.
