IKEA Makeup Storage

Buying makeup and collating the cream of the crop is one task but finding a way to store it is another entirely. I've attempted to store it in the top drawer of a dresser, in makeup bags and now I believe I've found the keeper- a wooden drawer unit from IKEA. The series is called MOPPE and I spotted this one in my local for about $39 AUD. After a quick Google I discovered I am most certainly not the first to find their storage solution in the MOPPE. Like H&M and kikki.K, all good things (i.e. IKEA) come from Sweden.

Painting the fronts of the drawers white. The untreated wood makes for a fuss-free paint job.

The top left drawer contains lip products- glosses, lipsticks, balms, crayons and tints. The top right is temporarily housing current skincare products or bits and bobs so I didn't bother taking a photo.

The first of three drawers on the second level stores face base- primer, foundation, concealer, powder, setting spray.

The second drawer houses blush, bronzer and highlighter products. The magnetic tin I store odd depotted pans in also lives here because I'm trying to use my Bourjois blushes a bit more often.

I store my eye products in the third drawer- liners, shadows, mascara and brow products. Small palettes like duos, trios and quads live here too. The Urban Decay Naked 2 palette (the only Naked palette I own) lives in the bottom drawers because that's the only place big enough for it.

I used to store my brushes upright in mugs and pencil cups but I don't have a dressing table, so I didn't like the way it looked on my dresser and I didn't like how the brushes could collect dust standing upright so I rearranged my storage and found that I could store them in the bottom drawer, which is the longest one. My brush collection is mostly Real Techniques, EcoTools and Sigma with some no-name brands here and there. I use a Shiseido eyelash curler, but I've tried the Shu Uemura curler and I'm genuinely befuddled about the difference. Surprisingly, the Shu didn't do much for me at all. I might need to use it for a bit longer but I wasn't wowed by it.
