Out the Door

I lead a pretty average student life. For the most part, not much changes even when the season varies and University term is on or off, but if you're nosy and would like to see how I get ready in the mornings, read on!

Always always remember to charge your phone!

I learnt in the past few months that I cannot function without breakfast. When I skip breakfast, I screw everything up for myself for the rest of the day. I don't get a normal appetite at regular mealtimes and and I get cranky and usually end up eating junk food as snacks because I've offset my hungry times by 3 hours. What I'm trying to say is that I need to eat, and I usually choose to eat chia seeds with almond milk and fruit, usually in the form of overnight chia pudding which I top with whichever cereal I have. At the moment it's Kellogg's Crunchy Nut but I've also loved granola clusters and muesli. Some days I just have yogurt with chia seeds instead, some days I indulge with a decadently junky dose of instant noodles with an egg and veggies and some days I happen to leave home without eating breakfast and I'll pick up a waffle and a coffee for $6.50 at the coffee joint at my University. The main reason I need to eat something is to curb the awkwardly loud stomach grumbles during class.

I brush my teeth and cleanse with my favourite cleanser, Biore's Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser, which I've repurchased 3 times. I follow up the cleansed, dry skin with the usual Hada Labo Super Hydrating Lotion for hydration, and normally I would use the Biore Perfect Face Milk SPF50+ for sun protection, but I've found a new product that I'm trying out! I shake some Lush No Drought dry shampoo (decanted into a mini bottle from The Body Shop) into the roots if I'm going on second-day hair and I've made it a habit to slick on some Tony Moly Mini Peach lip balm (shown in the bedside table photo above) every night before bed so I can avoid having chapped lips. I included my perfume into this photo as well- I'm trying to use up some perfume oil samplers that I bought off an Etsy shop a year ago.

I'm trying out a BB cushion for my base- this is the Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion in W13 Natural Beige and I'm not sure if I love it yet. I do love the sebum control and the weightlessness and the fact that it's got SPF50+ but the shade I got is just passable and I have an inkling that I should have gotten something a smidge darker and yellower than this. I'll post about it when I've got a better idea of my opinion but I'm liking it so far.
I add some colour back to my cheeks with Illamasqua's Zygomatic cream blush on the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and set it all with an Ecotools Mineral Powder brush and a new powder I'm trying out- this is Rimmel's Lasting Finish powder in 03 Silky Beige. Lashes get curled with Shiseido and brows get a slick of Revlon Brow Fantasy tinted gel in Dark Brown to add some colour and hold. I didn't include a lip product because I usually pop on some lip balm from my tote bag.

I've been loving some Cotton On boyfriend jeans with copper hardware that I got years ago and I loved them before but after I put in some DIY rips I love them even more now. I pair them with a white 'penguin' cut tee from Dotti and a neutral soft trench from H&M that my sister got me in the holidays. 'We keep an Asian household' (spot that reference!) so I usually slip on a pair of Toms or sandals at the front door. Grab my bag- this one- and I'm off.
