La Dolce Vita

The sweet life- and I think it rings true in both senses. Our winter break's reaching a close and I think I've made good use of this past month- I've read some books that I've been meaning to for a long time, I've been cooking up a storm in the kitchen every other day and I've had time for friends in a way that I'm not afforded during the academic term. Definitely a sweet life.

Caved when we were in the area and tried a blueberry-glazed from Donut Boyz! I think this is a phase that will pass.
The 'show your colours!' campaign flags on the Victoria Bridge for the Liverpool FC vs Brisbane Roar game. My boyfriend's attending the game and these flags got me excited on his behalf.

I alighted from my bus one stop early so that I could walk across the pedestrian bridge into the city on my way to a meeting because it puts me in such a good mood. I love the way the sunshine glimmers on the water.
Assisting a friend with transporting and powering a sound system for his marriage proposal! Eeeeeeep. He made this Ferrero Rocher bouquet and entrusted us with the ring so he wouldn't have to carry it around with him before he popped the question.
On the weekend we were at a friend's house and started chatting about baking brownies and cookies and freezing cookie dough because she's a busy mum of the cheekiest, cutest toddler. A couple of days later I did just that, because I love my signature choc chip cookie recipe.
Toby the Maltese-Shih Tzu fluff. He went to the groomers and they clippered him to the point of a shorn sheep so now that his fur has grown back out a bit, he's making more appearances.
Siam Samrarn lunch specials: Pad Thai and Fried Hokkien Noodles after watching Ant-Man at Southbank Cineplex. Great movie, as expected from Marvel.
Worth-the-hype Zumbo sweets from the Regional Flavours food festival gifted from my brother's girlfriend!
Baking bread! Plain salt rolls; Cheese and chive tear-and-share; and Cinnamon sugar crusted plaited loaf!
White chocolate and raspberry bread-and-butter pudding for dessert using slices of my own bread! One of my favourite winter desserts to whip up on short notice.
Steak specials dinners at the Glen! Wasn't expecting much at all but I quite liked it.
Visited the Brisbane Flower Markets to buy a bouquet for a graduation ceremony!
The bouquet that we settled on for my brother's girlfriend.
